I love this gym, but I am on the verge of canceling my membership due to the planned closing of the play area across from Learn and Play. I specifically joined and attend this gym for how kid friendly it is and for the peace of mind that I have with being able to see her while I'm working out.

My daughter uses this play area every day that we go to the gym, to remove this source of joy from her life just so that the public can have access to these computers when there is a library just down the road is absurd. Our kids deserve better, 1 in 5 children is obese now, these play areas are much more needed than a computer lab!! If this play area is removed the Y can kiss goodbye to my family membership.

The YMCA of Pikes Peak Region is a lovely gym/family gathering spot for all things.
The positives: Equipment and Classes and fun and inviting environment makes you want to go every day!
The negatives: I really had a struggle with the cost. We did a family of three and it was $130 a month with fees on the rise. This seems very steep to me. I was also not a huge fan of the 2.5 hours of daycare situation. Depending on who was on staff it seemed like my son wouldn't get enough of his needs met. I would pick him up and he would be very upset (appearing like he'd been crying a while) or the staff members would give me full inspection reports (even telling me about the safety issues with infants and hangnails.) It really was demeaning at times. Thirdly, the timing of the childcare does not align with their classes. The child center closes midday (which is great to keep things clean) however for our schedule just simply doesn't work.

We also did swim lessons from the Armed Services location and I swear one of the staff members was hungover, 15 minutes late and told us all about their staffing issues. It was real sad.

We ended up cancelling after 3 months simply because the negatives outweighed everything else.

My review is only as a pool pass customer. And has also prevented me from a membership. I’ve been to this specific location about a dozen times in the last year with my grandchildren and NOT ONCE have they been able to go down that big tease of a yellow slide because it’s never been open when we’ve come and have been told several different reasons. So I research other locations and after spending around 50$ to get us in, there’s jazzercize in the wave pool and the heater was broke in the lazy river. But no one tells you that before you pay, so 2 kids froze and 2 didn’t swim for the 45 minutes they waited for the wave pool. If it was only swimming pools offered I would have honestly given 2 stars. I even asked if we could just have our money back but was told no since two of the children had gotten in the water how would they have been able to know that the heat was broke if they hadn’t have gotten in? Just crazy. So we waited until Jazzercise was over and swam for about 15 minutes to feel like we got some of our money worth

I’ve been a member of this YMCA since it opened. Lately, it has not seemed as organized and clean as it was in the past which has been disappointing. The employees are polite, but have a hard time enforcing rules: examples are large groups of kids just playing and hanging out in the lap lanes and even playing ball in the lap lanes and 12–15 year olds and even younger kids in the hot tub without being accompanied by a parent or guardian. Also, children are using the adult only locker rooms and the disabled-family locker rooms are not all that clean. The upstairs exercise equipment has a lot of users. Suggestions: It may be helpful to consider using a reservation system for the exercise equipment and the lap swim lanes.

Membership is $130 plus for a family which is pretty pricey, esp when they are closing the play area and there is a specific lady with purple hair who has given us constant issues at child care, who in my opinion should be fired.
she does not understand how to work with kids and interact with them or even makes an effort to distract them so parents can leave, instead she lets the kids cry and then within 30 mins tells us to come get our child..and when picking up or dropping them off she seems to always have an attitude or be in a negative mood..this has been extremely frustrating when we pay so much for a membership and only have limited time to workout. I’ve taken our child to the fountain YMCA child care and have had zero issues there. Not a fan of having to pay so much just to deal with this. We will be canceling our membership soon and figuring out other options since they cannot manage to properly watch our child.
The gym is great but lacks diverse equipment, machines are limited, lots of cardio and cables but only one bench and 2 power racks, 1 leg press and lots of missing essential equipment.

This is the local YMCA that I like to visit. I primarily use the YMCA for swimming and strength training, for triathlons. The pool at this YMCA is never crowded, I have always been able to find a lane. Lap swimming doesn’t begin to 12 PM and goes until closing. The staff is incredible, everyone has been extremely friendly and helpful to me during every visit. The crowds within the gym are minimal, so if you don’t like to work out around a lot of people, this is a great YMCA location.

Well maintained gym with a great staff & an awesome hot tub, pool, water slide. Also a climbing wall that’s open 3 days a week! Their website is not maintained so it’s best to call to confirm with any question you may have.

We love our family at the Y! My children always feel welcome, loved, and cared for in the learn and play. The ladies in there ROCK - Michaelyn, Yvonne, Dawn, Jacinta, miss Debbie, Kassi etc etc - we love them all! Thank you for making it possible for me to work out while taking care of my crazy kiddos. UPDATE: I also SOOOO appreciate that they have a wait-list when it's busy. It is a little inconvenient but I would much rather my children be safe and happy than overwhelmed with tons of children and too few childcare workers just so I can get my workout in.

The facilities are also very nice, especially the pool area. What's not to like
