In couples therapy - where we were dealing with major betrayal and trauma — we often left feeling worse than when we went in. Though this office is hailed as an addiction recovery and betrayal trauma specialty site, we found that they failed to take into account our personal values, our personal situation, and the level of trauma that the betrayed partner in our relationship had experienced. Trauma informed therapy was not practiced in our couples sessions, leaving the betrayed partner at great mental health risk more than once. In addition, the emphasis on conservative, rigid, traditional values made it difficult for us as our ex Mormon experience, religious trauma and more liberal worldview was often judged criticized and condemned in unethical ways.

Really disappointed to be honest. My wife and I booked an appointment for our first time for 6pm and we sat in the lobby for 20 minutes waiting for someone to help us. Two people (that we assumed worked there) walked by us with their things without saying anything. We ended up leaving without a single word from anyone working there. Big time bummer for Connections Counseling.

My experience with Connections Counseling was flawless over the course of 2 years. Their front desk communicates super well and I never had any issues with payments/insurance. But most importantly, they have extremely competent and talented therapists:
I met with Alex Pratt for couples therapy for 1.5 years and was amazed by him. He made both my partner and I feel heard and understood, was able to dig into the root of issues with precision, and gave extremely helpful advice. I am so grateful for the help he gave us and skills he taught that still help me on a day-to-day basis.
I met with Jessica Judd for individual counseling and hands down would say she's the best 1:1 therapist I've ever had. Not only was she able to understand my issues quickly, she also gave me spot on help and administered EMDR in an effective way while still helping me feel safe. She's also just extremely likeable. 11/10 recommend.
It's hard to find therapists that have a good balance of empathy, listening, asking the right questions, giving helpful instruction, and educating based on tried and true principles. The only reason I left was due to my insurance changing.

This office is outstanding at all levels...both in counseling and in billing. They will sit with you and go over any questions you have and work with you if there is ever any kind of problem.
I have been with this practice for 16 months, and the Connections Team is truly amazing at healing individuals and empowering those individuals to be their best selves.
It is truly an honor to be a client at this office and to be cared for by the kind and loving therapists who want so much to help you get back on your feet and find the hope and healing that you need.
