Horrible communication and terrible job fulfilling their mission of getting people out of shelters and into safe housing. No one picks up phones or answers emails. They are corrupt and against small landlords participating in City FHeps

I came into the shelter system for help because my last neighbors were just ghetto fabulous always at my door for no apparent reason. I didnt want to act a fool with them so I left, putting all my worldly possessions on the sidewalk. Now I'm in the bronx away from all the places I have business with EX hospitals sphychiatrists for my special needs children doctors for my granddaughter. To boot I have had operations that say I'm not allowed to lift anything. They put me in a room full of mold with my one and half month granddaughter. They have no elevator so I have to carry my granddaughter stroller up and down the stairs and yes the staff knows about my operations I asked for a transfer and some fake person that said they were from dhs called me and said it was approved yet I'm still here. I found an apartment and every time I asked the housing specialist if I needed to do anything ir did I need to have anything she said no and that the staff here takes care of it all.not soon after my one shot deal was rejected because I did need to do something. Cant wait to get out of this tiny room with my 20 year old son and 5 month old granddaughter.
Dont believe nothing they say. These people are very unprofessional.
Make sure you take care of your own business and always follow up on it after they say theve done something concerning your business.

DHS has a tremendous and unbelievable conflict of interest. They are payed and are supposed to help the homeless but they don’t want you to have any personal property or belongings. Then, HRA doesn’t want to help you get a storage room. They harass you endlessly if you have personal property and everything you have or could have or need, it is all a fire hazard. Yet, they do fire drills constantly, like weekly. And I have been here two years and never seen a fire. The fire alarm keeps going off because of the addicts smoking cigarettes and drugs. They should be more focused on getting people job training, jobs and housing. ?

Department of homeless services set you up for failure!!!!! They don’t really want to help people. They got paid almost $5000 A month to have my family of five stay in the Shelter yet they couldn’t help me find an apartment in New York Instead one of the workers was playing the role of being a broker on the side and found me an apartment in New Jersey for nothing because the old Landlord Took all the money and Sold the house and the new landlord doesn’t want anybody there so now I’m going right back to the shelter I question who is in charge of DHS.they gave me such a hard time for me to move into an apartment and I would find apartments on my own and they gave me all the excuses in the world for me not to leave. why is that? because of the money that they are making off of homeless People. I’m very aggravated because I’m disabled and have kids that are disabled and I Wasn’t even offered a program or any help they are all crooks. This system is corrupt and is not fair to people like me Who just simply wants stable affordable housing.

Recently returned after they did that “ move them to New Jersey “ nonsense . Well that was a scam , the new owner is in her apartment and DHS had the nerve to now ask for proof my family and I were a family since last year , how does someone prove they slept in a car ? Yes we are the same family that moved with your work advantage program and it failed , and you had everyone sent back , except now there was a fresh eviction which makes it harder to find housing . Then you came with this enhanced one shot deal bs and these landlords were scammers , so now that the majority are back you think we’re supposed to come back and forth every 10 days because you’re asking for unrealistic paperwork. You need to know we’re a family ? You know that already, we’ve been dealing with this tired system since the 90s and nothing has changed. Class action lawsuit anyone
