I have worked with Moeder Construction numerous times as both a seller and buyer agent. I have always found both the builder and his team of staff and sub contractors to be very professional and responsive to their customers. I trust this builder and have recommended them to family and friends without reservation. The new construction market has been hit particularly hard with increased pricing for materials and labor shortages but, even through these stressful times, Moeder Construction has been great to work with! Highly recommend.

We are very pleased with Quinten and his team. Building a home is stressful to say the least, we had so many questions! Each and every question was addressed/answered within that same day! He and his team have wonderful communication not only with one another, but also with us, the customer. Our home was finished about 3 weeks ahead of schedule, even with delays! His homes have a very high quality of craftsmanship. Every one of his crew, that we met , knew what they were doing and took pride in the home they were building. Speaking with our neighbors and hearing their experiences with building, we are so thankful that we chose Moeder, and had such a positive experience! If we ever build again we are using Moeder!!

Quentin, his subs, and the entire Moeder Construction team was Excellent to work with. Linda Seiwert was our realtor and that just made for such a awesome combination. We were well informed throughout. Quentin was amazingly accurate on his estimates. Everyone is so open and honest and just an absolute pleasure to work with during at a time that could have been way more stressful. I personal want to thank and recomend Moeder Construction and Linda Seiwert for leading us in building a Beautiful Home.

This is a tough one to write. Unfortunately it seems like Quentin Moeder seems to be one of those people who’s in it for one purpose and one purpose only - himself and your money.

We agreed in January to build with Moeder in the Cornerstone development in Andover. We loved the Riverton model home and had our dream plan ready to go.

Originally slated to break ground in May, we endured several delays that were out of our control (the biggest delay being the city of Andover failing to complete the roads in a timely manner, failing inspection etc)

When it came time for our final meeting with Quentin, we received notice that he would be raising our lumber cost $41,000. We immediately rejected the added cost and cancelled our contract.

Here’s where it gets worse: we later found out that the other 2 builders in the development are NOT raising lumber costs on their clients who had agreed to contracts in the same time frame we did. Moeder is the only builder who raised lumber. The 41,000 is astronomically higher than what would be fair even if there was a NEED to raise costs. This looks to be a money grab move and reflects extremely poorly on Moeder construction - Especially when we found out that he was the only builder raising rates on people who had already agreed to pricing contracts. Not to mention the price of lumber is plummeting back to earth from the highs of 3 months ago

As someone with many contacts in this city and a local radio personality, I will steer anyone I can away from people who do business like this.

I’ll be the first person to admit and understand that builders are in the business to make money at the end of the day, but the way this deal went down is not good business.

Steer clear

We built with Moeder in 2015. He is a nice guy, but things we pointed out even early on that weren't fixed right away are still driving us crazy! The more that we live here, the more issues we are fixing and cleaning up behind the sub par (at best) work. Our deck was an issue the day they started to build it, I was here when the framers were on the phone telling them that the cement block was put in the wrong spot, guess what?! They were told to build on it anyway so one of our main posts to hold the covered roof up on the deck is hanging off of the very large round cement block with only a little portion actually on the cement. We had wasps in our basement right away, and realized they sealed NONE of the holes that were leading outside for ventilation, pipes, and electricity. Our basement vents do not blow air at all and do not have blocking in them. We had them finish our basement bathroom for us and one of the pipes that goes into the foundation is on the outside of the framing. We are now finishing the rest of our basement so this has created a wall that is not flat and will only look worse once we get trim in place. Holes cut into the sheetrock for electrical outlets are too big and done poorly, we can see seams everywhere. When I wipe dust off the trim with a damp cloth, stain comes off immediately. The wall paint is the cheapest of flat paints out there. Builders use flat paint and that is expected, but I don't expect it to come off when I just go over it with a damp cloth! The blue tape that they put on oopsies at final walk through, yeah some of that sat on my walls and doors for two years before I finally said "I will fix it myself". When we very first moved in the first heavy rain we had, it was raining in my master bathroom. Pretty sure there are several outside walls that are not properly insulated because the master bedroom does not stay cool at all, in the winter we have our vents shut and still cook on the northwest corner, but the southeast corner bedroom is freezing in the winter and so hot in the summer. I could write a book on all of the work we have just taken upon ourselves in the end because it's so incredibly horrible. But the one that makes me the MOST crazy, is we are already going to be replacing flooring because the follow up on proper installation didn't happen, I had to have the contractor come back in, take up the carpet (which meant moving 4 rooms of furniture), seal our padding properly after it had already failed, and then they laid the carpet back down. Seams had huge gaps, it's been fraying on the edges ever since, and the smell from the carpet cleaning I had done which is what caused me to figure out it had not been done properly in the first place has NEVER gone away. Our carpet with this pad was supposed to last 10 years and looks like apartment carpet that has been there for too long only 3 years later! We are talking thousands upon thousands of dollars in repairs and redos in just 3 years. Our air conditioner has now failed completely and when I called to get warranty information, they saw it was a Moeder house and groaned....this should tell you something! I had sent them a laundry list of things that needed fixed before our 1 year warranty was up and they kind of came in and fixed some things. Never again! We actually had a better house with Slawson years ago, and when we sent the list of fix its to them, they came in and fixed very simple things and we were happy with it. We really should have gone with Robl in the end!

We built with Moeder in 2005. We still live in our Moeder home. But, we have spent thousands at this point repairing and replacing all the things they cut corners on. Nearly all our siding has been replaced. Our HVAC system was a total replacement. The deck that never met code in the first place, and was rotting off and rotted the house where it was connected... zero flashing was used when it was built originally... is now finally being replaced. I keep hoping we will finally have all the issues fixed or totally replaced, but something new always crops up. I already know the remaining windows need replaced. 3 of the windows have already been replaced. The driveway and front porch need replaced too. The house is not 15 years old yet. Most of the issues we have are typical of a house that is 30 years old.

Worst builder in wichita....does not care about quality. Cuts corners, cheapskate...less than one star.. absolutely no quality and will hire cheapest contractors he can find. Buyer beware, you have been notified. Do NOT use this builder. After closing he will laugh all the way to the bank.
