Great equipment to drive but as far as doing heavy haul here you’ll be expected to haul things illegally if you want to keep your job. Once you start saying “no” to the illegal things you’ll get fired. The company does have plenty of work for drivers. The pay isn’t bad but know as a heavy haul driver what you should get paid bc the company will lie and tell you all drivers are maxed out at $25 and that is far from the truth. Overall if you’re apart of the “good ol boy” club you will love the company for sure. Safety is something I would like to see this company care more about rather than trying to move equipment as fast as possible. If you get to meet anyone at the company Ms.Lisa is a great person in the office. Most of the office staff is very easy to communicate with so that’s a big plus for a driver. Just my experience, everyone’s experience is different.

This company is doing work next to my property right now. The 1st day they started work. They ripped the dam open on the pond next door to me and sent a 8 to 10 foot wave of water and debri through the drainage on my property. They did not even have a care or concern to let us know they were going to do this. When I talk to them about it, they said they thought that was still the property they were working on. They have no clue or care about the neighbors surrounding their jobs. Now I have to wait for them to dig the dirt out and repair the fence before I can let my cows back on my own property.

Pros: It's fast pace for truck drivers. Like, really fast pace. Your check is good every week. Blue Cross and Blue Sheild insurance is the best available. Confirmed by outside agents who couldn't even get close to R Construction's insurance. Equipment is great for the most part. Pretty new trucks and trailers. Laid back atmosphere at my yard. I quietly show up for my shift, and I ease on to the house with minimal interaction with management.

Cons: Absolutely no benefit package. No nada! No holiday pay. No vacation time or pay. No sick days. There is a salary cap if you don't drive a truck with a sleeper. Managers & supervisors are NOT going to take a fall no matter what when something goes "left". You are going under that bus. Expect it. Just start crawling under the bus and there will be a boot on your butt to help you get under the bus faster. There is no such thing as driver appreciation at R Construction. No safety awards or bonuses. They are here to look at that bottom line every shift end to see if your truck made money in the last 12 hr shift. Did you get enough work done to turn a profit? They want as much work and as many wells pulled as you can squeeze into a 12 hour shift. But don't want to guarantee minimum 1 1/2 hrs - 2 hrs per job...even if they're charging the customer 2.5 hrs. If you get the job done faster, they don't want to let you make that 2.5 hrs also. Totally takes away the incentive to run hard get the truck parked by 5 and be in the bed sleeping by 6. Why would I get a 3 hrs job done in an hr & 45 mins and only get pay for that but the company is still charging customer for 3 hrs? Why wouldn't I drag my feet and get my 3 hrs? Why not pay me for the 3 hrs and then I will get it done in 2 and go grab another one and you're making more money overall. But they're pocket watching at R Construction. The they would rather lose 2 $180 loads per shift because drivers are dragging their feet than giving a driver $37.50 of that $180. So they want you to turn 8 wells in a 12 hr shift out of the goodness of your heart instead of letting you make 14 hrs pay. It's crazy to me to be so greedy that a driver doing less work and the truck turning a smaller profit makes sense. Because they don't want drivers to have anything more than minimum. NOTHING! Not a benefit not an extra penny for you! Maybe once in a while coming in on one of your off days. Drivers are nasty. Most will come along and jump in your clean assigned truck and leave trash. Use your paper towels windex. Take your phone holder out of place and toss it somewhere. Move your fittings and leave them with grease and grime...even your clean sight glasses. Mud all in the floor and no pump oil or DEF. This is diabolical work. And theres no need to complain. It doesn't matter. Nothing matters but management bonuses & paychecks. And the how much profit that truck and trailer turned on your shift.

Driver retention? Don't give a hoot. Go ahead and quit. You'll be replaced.

You can't ever get ahold to someone reasonably for HR or payroll issues. Might never return your voicemail. Everything is hush-hush. You kinda gotta get a good understanding of policy and what this & that pays through the Grapevine. The less you know the easier it is to take you to the sausage party. So there's a lot of little bits of information omitted and withheld so someone give you that ol' shoulder kiss. Usually about your money. And the biggest issue is that your supervisor/manager can edit your daily time sheet and adjust the hours that you spent on a job and you would never know. Checks be coming up short, and good luck getting someone to pick up the phone and home office to get help.

Would I recommend R Construction? Yes. That money is right & the insurance they offer (maxxed out) is absolutely unmatched.
Just stay safe as you can & do your best to watch your hrs.
