Only rode it as Top Thrill Dragster because Zamperla sucks. Ride was short but amazing. Launch was probably the best I’ve ever experienced. The drop gave great airtime and apparently gave even better airtime when it opened for 8 days back in May. Also theming was surprisingly great.

I did get a chance to ride this 2 times on opening day. But it has been closed since mid 2021 and was only open for less than a week. Cedar Point did choose Zamperla to reimagine Top Thrill Dragster. Intamin built the original Top Thrill Dragster and it was very un reliable. They shut down the ride due to an accident that nearly killed someone in 2021. Top Thrill 2 is probably my favorite ride in the world. Zamperla was the cheapest option. Zamperla had only built a coaster a third of the height and a third of the speed. If Cedar Point chose Intamin who is making the 607ft falcons flight then they would have easily been able to do this because their new coasters are much more reliable. It is not too late, Cedar Point can buy just the trains from intamin and this will probably not happen again. If the breakdown were to never happen then I would give this 5 stars. Cedar Point would not be stupidly stupid. They knew that you get what you pay for.

The NEW TT2 Top Thrill Dragster 2. First off this is a completely different ride experience than the original. Gone is the 120 mph rush in 3.8 seconds. It is now replaced with a with a first launch of 74 mph. Then the fun begins. As it rolls back and engages the magnetic system you are treated to a backward launch of over 100 mph! Then forward again reaching that 120 mph to the top. The seats are wider, the train looks fantastic. The ride itself does shake back and forth more than I would expect from a new design. In all, its a blend of Wicked Twister meets Top Thrill 1. A nice meeting between the 2 but not exactly the same of either. Rider should still love this ride. One issue I know its test week but we got to the front of the line and it broke for an hour and 20 minutes. Please tell me this is not the same old Dragster!? That was the whole problem with the original.?

It is a shame that it closed. Before it did there were reports of rattling. It's probably obly for extreme thrill seekers like me, and even when I went it was down. Zamperla promised a more reliable ride, but I guess we will not get that. At least in 2024

Absolutely amazing coaster all around. The launches are excellent, especially the second and third. The sustained floater at the top of and down the spike is remarkable. And the top hat. I still haven’t fully processed the magic that is the top hat. From the moment you go over the top until you reach the bottom of the drop is all sustained ejector air time. I highly recommend this coaster, and look forward to many more rides this season.

I had the privilege of being one of the first riders on Top Thrill 2. I have been on the original and I like the new version better. It’s longer, smoother, and gives much more airtime. It also seems way more reliable since the launch system was completely replaced. Launching backwards at over 100 MPH is something every thrill seeker needs to experience. I could ride this over and over all day long. It’s almost as much fun to watch.

You must be 52” to ride. They have a test seat at the entrance to ensure you fit in the seat prior to waiting. From what I can tell, if you can fit on Millennium Force you should have no problem fitting on this.

The line for the ride is covered and shaded. You cannot bring a phone in line with you however they have music and TVs for your enjoyment. I feel the line is going to move rather quickly if all three trains are running. Phones and bags can be left with a non-rider, or placed in a locker for a small fee. They do have a fast pass option also. If you only have 1 day at the park, I highly recommend fast pass.

The new plaza was much needed. Sitting on the bleachers you can see rollers coasters in every direction. There is no shade in the bleachers however it would take away from the full view in my opinion. If you plan on sitting in the bleachers and burn quick, I recommend you pack sunscreen or bring an umbrella. Besides the bleachers they have benches near the line entrance.

Major props to Cedar Point and Zamperla Rides. They did a wonderful job on this.

This is one of the tallest, fastest, most exciting roller coasters in the world. I have riden this ride dozens of times over the years, and waited for hours in line when it first opened. I always look forward to riding this when I visit the park, which I will be doing next week so I am super excited. This is one of the many amazing rides at the park that you should tide.
